DOPE MAGAZINE – “Tokeativity – Empowering Women at the Root Level” by E. Somes

I recently found myself at a Canna Mama event in Portland, hosted by the co-founders of Tokeativity, COO Samantha Montanaro and CEO Lisa Snyder, who started the organization in Portland two years ago and now have nine chapters in Oregon, Washington, Colorado and California. Tokeativity works to connect and empower women offering a diverse portfolio of events to choose from, all of which distill insights and information supporting the normalization of cannabis in society.
Montanaro and Snyder wanted to create a foundation of support for women, believing that the uprising of cannabis goes hand in hand with feminism. Women need to be protected legally as mothers and cannabis consumers, safe in their right to choose a plant over a pill.
Lisa Snyder is the Co-Founder & Chief Innovation Officer of Tokeativity, The Global Feminist Community for Active Cannabis Culture.
She is a feminist and plant medicine advocate with over 25 years of digital strategy experience and has passionately supported the self-healing revolution through consumption and plant medicine advocacy.
She has been recognized for her work in Forbes, Rolling Stone, Condé Nast Traveler, Yahoo! Finance, The Guardian, MJ Lifestyle, Travel Portland, Dope Magazine, Civilized, Magnetic Magazine, Willamette Week, and Time Out New York among others.
After losing both parents to cancer in her 20’s, she passionately partnered her community building, feminist event planning, and web skills with fellow event planner, cannabis entrepreneur and community builder, Samantha Montanaro, to create Tokeativity in 2016.
