DOPE MAGAZINE – “Tokeativity – Empowering Women at the Root Level” by E. Somes

I recently found myself at a Canna Mama event in Portland, hosted by the co-founders of Tokeativity, COO Samantha Montanaro and CEO Lisa Snyder, who started the organization in Portland two years ago and now have nine chapters in Oregon, Washington, Colorado and California. Tokeativity works to connect and empower women offering a diverse portfolio of events to choose from, all of which distill insights and information supporting the normalization of cannabis in society.

Montanaro and Snyder wanted to create a foundation of support for women, believing that the uprising of cannabis goes hand in hand with feminism. Women need to be protected legally as mothers and cannabis consumers, safe in their right to choose a plant over a pill.
