With the foundational knowledge of Cannabis botany, morphology and taxonomy, students must learn what the terms Indica and Sativa actually refer to.   2. Learn to define, identify and explore the class of compounds known as terpenes. Using the foundational knowledge of chemotype and cannabinoids from prior learning modules, we will dive deeper into why certain strains of Cannabis produce different experiences. We will discuss and interact with the most common terpenes found in Cannabis and each of their specific properties. The information presented in this module will allow students to be able to analyze chemotypic data in subsequent learning modules.
  3. Learn to place the cannabis plant within the broader context of the plant kingdom. Students will gain a basic understanding of the core principles of botany and taxonomy before moving on to explore the major taxonomic differences and traits specific to Cannabis.
  4. Get an introduction to the most common class of compounds in Cannabis, the cannabinoids. Students will learn how cannabinoids are made and what their properties are. We will also define and explore the process of decarboxylation. This course will allow students to gain a basic understanding of cannabinoids and how we consume them.
